We're Home!
Hello everyone,
We arrived home safe and sound from our month long holiday to Thailand and Vietnam. What an amazing experience it was; from the delicious food to the sights and smells of these countries. It's now time to go through our 2004 photos (nearly had heart attack when I realised the amount we'd taken)!! and place them in some sort of order and hopefully begin a scrapbook of our travels.
I am so looking forward to catching up with our friends and all my lovely ladies who attend classes, technique days and just come along for a chat and coffee. Oh, it's so nice to drink 'real' coffee again!
Hubby returns to work tomorrow so I will be sending out a newsletter to all my lovelies regarding class and technique dates.
A lot of you know I just adore 'moth' orchids. Will you look at this arrangement! We could have brought home so many of these beauties, but Customs may have had something to say about it. Now I'd definitely know if that was missing from my front patio ladies!!
Cheers,
Sue

My upline, Jacqui Crouch very kindly typed the specials out so that we can all see them here. Don't forget, if you'd like to order any of these products at these amazing sale prices, just call or email me as I mentioned in my previous post.

Christmas Decorations
Hi everyone,
I had a play last week with my new Ornament Keepsakes dies and stamp set. I have been loving the work some of our demonstrators have done on the ornament, so I found the instructions to make the gorgeous ornament on the front of our Holiday Catalogue, but I decided to omit the linen thread from it. I wanted to try another colour and as I've always loved blue, decided to try a more simple adaptation. They take a little time, but I'm sure you'd agree, they are so lovely.
I always decorate my living room on 1 December but as I had a technique class last week, thought it would be nice to have it spruced up for the ladies. I made them up little gift bottles of chocolates, along with afternoon tea. Following the class I then drove up to help my son and his wife move homes! I was there with them for 3 days and then came home totally pooped; so was very pleased I'd decorated prior to my departure.
Till next time,
Cheers,
Sue

Photo opportunity not to be missed
Saturday last saw around 400 Stampin'Up! demonstrators enjoy our annual 'Heartfelt' day in Brisbane.
My downline Sylvia and I were lucky to meet up with the fabulous Tanya Bell who inspires us so much with her truly fabulous work. Of course this meeting couldn't end without a photo. What a day it was, filled with demonstrations, make and takes plus catching up with old friends and making new ones along the way. This Stampin'Up! family is amazing.
Four of us travelled up together for the day. Here we are - Sylvia, myself, Joanne and Chris Our Manager, Jacqui Crouch and Tamworth connection Therese were also there.
A little slice of 'wedding cake'
Our younger son David married his sweetheart Claire recently and I thought I'd make Claire a little gift for her High Tea afternoon. It is my version of a 'cake', gorgeous little boxes which I filled with chocolates for each guest. They went down a treat.
This was just a sample of the truly spectacular goodies we had to choose from which also included champagne. What a lovely afternoon.

I'm back!!
Hi everyone.
I've definitely been out of the loop for some time haven't I? I feel I was like a bear hibernating through Winter. Well, that's my excuse anyway.
Spring has sprung and now Summer is almost upon us, although the last couple of days here have been rather wet and miserable. 100mm (or 4") of rain fell here on Friday evening. We have really needed rain but not all at once!
Of course Stampin'Up! have released a beautiful new Catalogue and 'mini' Christmas catalogue. Naturally, I want everything from both of them, but alas that just won't happen at all once, but I will post in the very near future some fun gifts and goodies I am organising for Christmas.
In the meantine, I'd love to show you a few cards my ladies made at a recent workshop.
Birthday Butterflies:
My girlfriend Diane made me a card based on the gorgeous Elegant Butterfly punch and I changed the colours and orientation. Thanks Di, I loved your original.
Stamp Set: Papillon Potpourri
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum
Inks: As above with Soft Suede for sponging
Accessories: Fancy Fan embossing folder, Perfect Pearls, Dazzling Diamonds
Bring on the Cake:
I recently purchased a pair of orange 3/4 pants and a Navy top which co-ordinate perfectly. Therefore when it came to creating this card, those 2 colours shouted out for me to use them. Little did I realise we have a similar card in the new Catalogue!! Maybe, I'd seen it previously and it hadn't registered when I thought I'd 'created' this. Oh well, just shows how our minds work! This is a fabulous stamp set for male cards.
Stamp Set: Clockworks, Sanded Background, Bring on the Cake
Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Not Quite Navy, Confetti White
Inks: Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Tangerine Tango, Staz-on Black
Snowflake Christmas:
I couldn't decide whether to use Gumball Green or Raspberry Ripple as the main feature of our card (we normally make only 3 cards in a workshop). These gorgeous colours are 2 of the 2012-2014 In Colour range. I gave the ladies their choice of colour.
Stamp Set: Merry and Type
Cardstock: Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White, Silver Glitter
Inks: Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple
Accessories: Dahlia Assortment In Colour adornments (centre of snowflake), Snow Flurry Bigz die (don't you just adore this snowflake?), Dimensionals
Happy stamping everyone. Until next time,
Cheers,
Sue

A new day
Hi there,
Bet you thought I'd never return to post again!!! Believe me, I've been trying but life just keeps getting in the way.
Apart from my love of cardmaking, I have always loved scrapbooking but not delved into it much until now. Thank goodness a group of my lovely friends have been guiding and inspiring me along the way.
I really like the scrapbook page layout on the front of the now retired Summer Mini, so the girls and I decided to give it a go. Apart from the photo I've tried to get it as close to the original layout as I could. I hope you like the result.
Recently, I ran a class with my card club girls who requested we try some male cards. Because I have 2 gorgeous sons and an amazing husband, it came reasonably easy for me to organise some cards. I must admit I did get inspiration for the cards from other demonstrators (thank you).
Sailing into the Sunset
Cardstock: Confetti White (this is a fabulous 'natural' feel cardstock), Pacific Point
Ink: Staz On black, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango
Stamps: Seaworthy (one of my favourite stamp sets), Curly Cute
Other: Matt pack, Pacific Point marker, sponging, paper piecing, Square Lattice embossing folder
Nautical Expedition
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy
Ink: Early Espresso, Staz On black
Stamps: The Open Sea
Other: Early Espresso Baker's twine, Nautical Expedition DSP, silver brads
French Foliage

Ink: Basic Black, More Mustard, Cajun Craze
Stamps: French Foliage

I'm Back!
Hi to all my followers.
I have just spent a wonderful month in Western Australia with family.
Ross and I spent Christmas in Geraldton with our eldest son Justin. He is a kitesurfer so we followed the wind. I wish I was 30 years younger, I would love to take up the sport.
We then drove 7 hours from Geraldton up to Ningaloo Reef at Coral Bay, where we spent 4 days snorkelling and swimming in the most beautiful pristine clear waters.
I come from W.A. but, until now had not travelled north past Geraldton, so it was a great adventure for us all.
Ross had to return home for work, but I stayed on for the extra couple of weeks and was blessed to share some time with both my sons while they kitesurfed their days away. If I had my way, I would live opposite a beach! I have always loved the water. My parents tell me that my sister and I nearly turned into prunes when we were young as we spent so much time in the water!!! Our sons happily also love the beach.
I returned home yesterday and am catching up with everything. I look forward to sharing 2012 with all my lovely friends.
Until next time,
Cheers,
Sue

Fun at the Fundraiser
Hi everyone.
Well, here it is post fundraiser evening and what a day it was!
Had 50 ladies booked, all attended. There was lots of laughter and chatting, so I took it from that that they enjoyed themselves.
We raised a wonderful amount for my charity, made 5 cards, ate well, and of course thanks again to Stampin'Up! for all the fabulous product donated toward the event.
I had the most amazing help from my darling husband who sold raffle tickets, gave out door prizes, chatted, took photos, cleaned up, helped serve morning tea and generally helped all round. I even think the ladies enjoyed having him there!!
My upline Jacqui, fellow demonstrators Sylvia and Diane and 'guest' demonstrator Wendy were fabulous. Wouldn't have been able to do it without you girls.
I have just checked my emails and one guest has booked herself and 4 others in for the 'next' one which I mentioned we may have in 2012!
These are a couple of the photos to give you an idea how it all went.

Regionals Fun
Hi everyone.
Bet you thought I was never going to post on my blog again!
Didn't realise it's been nearly a month since my last entry - have been very busy with classes and life in general.

Didn't realise it's been nearly a month since my last entry - have been very busy with classes and life in general.
Hubby and I have recently enjoyed 8 relaxing days in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast -
what a gorgeous part of the country that is. Our unit was directly across the
road from the beach which in normal times would have been right up my alley,
but sadly the weather wasn't all that kind for the first 6 days, but we still
managed to explore the area which included the wonderful Eumundi markets and took in very
picturesque Maleny and Montville areas.
Our son David and his lovely fiance Claire (how exciting - they announced their engagement a few weeks back!) joined us on the weekend. We also taught Claire how to play Euchre and us girls 'whipped' the guys butts!!! Just had to get that one in!
On the Sunday we ventured off to Australia Zoo. Oh my goodness, it has definitely changed since those early days and is a credit to Steve and Terri Irwin. The first time we went as a family Steve and Terri joined our family for a chat while we enjoyed lunch, which was such a highlight for our boys. I think the Zoo would have only been a couple of years old at that stage; you should see it now - it's huge and beautiful.
Okay! enough of me and mine!!
On Saturday, along with members of our 'Bent Ink-linations' Stampin'Up! team - headed by the wonderful Jacqui Crouch - we attended the annual Stampin'Up! Regionals held at Brisbane Convention Centre. This was my second time there, but for Dianne, Sylvia, Jo and her guest Chris, it was their 'maiden' experience.
We decided our team should wear a 'badge' to distinguish who we are, so the lovely Dianne designed our gorgeous 'Miss Bling' with only a few days notice. Isn't she just divine? Again, thanks heaps Dianne - she will be proudly displayed on my SU apron. My contribution was that I supplied the brooch backs!!!!! big deal heh! Melon Mambo is the colour, but notice the bling and that gorgeous feather 'fascinator'!
Here we all are: Jo, her guest Chris, Therese, Dianne, Jacqui, myself and Sylvia
Thank you for visting,
Cheers,
Sue

Afternoon fun
I spent this afternoon at a workshop with a group of 8 lovely ladies. They are line dancers and following their morning of dancing and then lunch, it was down to a couple of hours of cardmaking.
Stamp Sets: Just Believe, Bring on the Cake
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pocketful of Posies Designer Series Paper, Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry (love this colour!)
Inks: Pear Pizazz, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Itty Bitty Punch set, Basic Pearls, Scallop trim border punch, corner rounder punch
Another easel card which I love making
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral (this is such a popular stamp set), Always Elegant, Confetti (this is a new set which consists of a group of background stamps - as a number of the ladies hadn't stamped much before, I wanted to show them what they could do. Therefore, there's not much showing, but we used the darling little dots stamp in the set)
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Rose Red
Accessories: Basic Pearls, Mat pack
I wanted to show the ladies that you don't need only Christmas paper for your cards.
Stamp Sets: Snow Swirled, Short and Sweet, Dasher
Cardstock: Pocketful of Posies Designer Series Paper (this particular patterned piece in the set is in Calypso Coral - gorgeous!), Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey, Whisper White
Inks: Calypso Coral
Accessories: Top Note Bigz die, Basic Rhinestones, Circles No.2 Original die, Punches -Scallop Circle, 1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" circle, daubers for sponging around whisper white cardstock.
Tomorrow I'm off to spend a couple of days with my fabulous Upline Jacqui who I'm sure has lots of goodies in store for us; apart from coffee, chatting and maybe more chatting!!!! Maybe a wine or two thrown in for good measure!
Sorry Dennis, you'll probably be glad to see me go on Thursday and then you can get back to 'normal'!!!! LOL
Thanks for visiting
Cheers,
Sue

Love is in the Air
Recently, my girlfriend's daughter asked me to make a wedding card for her. Well, as usual, once I began creating, I found it difficult to stop. So, instead of only 1, I ended up making 6 for her to choose from!! Hopefully, she'll like at least one of them! Let me know your thoughts.
I generally construct everything for my blog with Stampin'Up! product only, but this time I added in some 'stash' I have at home.
If you know me, you'll realise I have a rather large 'stash' of products from a previous life!
The same lady has also requested I make some baby cards for her - am I going to have fun with those!!
Girlie ones will be fun even though I was blessed with 2 gorgeous sons - pink was definitely not in the equation with them.
I do apologise for the shine on some of these photos. Very difficult photographing white-on-white or cream.
I used Stampin'Up's gorgeous Champagne Mist Shimmer paint on the flourish and butterfly.
SU basic pearls, Whisper White cardstock, Butterfly punch, X-lge oval punch and the new Oval designer frame embossing folder (looks like little pearls around the edge of the frame), and of course that beautiful Champagne Mist Shimmer paint.
This card opens up from where the Scallop trim border punched edges are. I have used basic pearls as highlights and embossed with SU Gold embossing powder. The card rests on a square of SU Brushed Gold cardstock.
Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder used here, again with those gorgeous basic pearls.
Last, but not least. I have used the gorgeous Frames Tulips embossing folder, along with the Decorative Label punch.
Enjoy,
Thanks for visiting
